About Darah

Barbie was my first heroine--Ken, her ever faithful hero. They spent days enacting dramatic scenes from stories in my head. I hated to let them go, but when you're almost fourteen and about to enter high school....well, what more can I say. Real life took their place until I met my husband. There was a brief lull after the honeymoon was over and before my first child when I tried to write, but that manuscript went up in flames long ago.

It wasn't until my last child came along that I decided reading romance just wasn't enough any more. I needed to write it. In 1999, I gave birth to my first novel, Under One Condition, a very, very long historical. I joined RWA and my local chapter in 2001 and never looked back. Writing is like breathing. I can't survive--happily anyway--without telling a story, getting it on the page.
